The Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences (FUTES), Iyin Ekiti, is preparing to recruit staff and admit its first set of students, according to Vice Chancellor, Prof. Gbenga Aribisala.
Speaking at a reception held in his honour in Ado-Ekiti, Aribisala urged prospective applicants to beware of fraudulent platforms, stressing that all recruitment and admission processes would be open and transparent. He explained that the university was designed as a 21st-century institution to combine knowledge with character, producing disciplined leaders capable of addressing Nigeria’s challenges.
Aribisala also revealed that FUTES would operate as a fully residential university, a model aimed at instilling discipline, encouraging close mentoring, and creating a conducive environment for learning.
With this approach, he noted, the new university hopes to distinguish itself as a pioneer in producing globally competitive graduates while setting a high standard for higher education in Nigeria.
