Prof. Mohammed Khalid-Othman, VC, Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA)
Mohammed Khalid-Othman, the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA), has called for prayers to guide his tenure, acknowledging the challenges of university leadership.
Speaking at a reception in his hometown, Bindawa, organised by local government chairman Alhaji Badaru Musa, Khalid-Othman expressed gratitude to his community, colleagues, family, and the FUDMA community for their support. He noted that while many expect swift transformation at the university, he would act within his human capacity and described his appointment as an act of God, stating that he had never lobbied for the position.
The pro-chancellor and chairman of FUDMA’s governing council, Ali Abubakar-Jatau, confirmed the appointment, which followed approval by the council and senate during their 36th special meeting in Dutse.
During the event, Bindawa council chairman praised the VC for his dedication, mentorship, and commitment to community development, urging continued support. Former Borno governor Abdulmuminu Aminu advised residents to avoid personal distractions and allow Khalid-Othman to focus on his administrative duties.
