The Nigerian Navy has completed a significant renovation project at Waziri Lawal Local Education Authority (LEA) Primary School in Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The initiative, inaugurated on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, was part of the Navy’s Special Intervention Quick Impact Projects aimed at improving education and community welfare.
Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, Chief of Naval Staff, was represented by Rear Admiral Monday Unurhiere at the commissioning ceremony.
The project included the refurbishment of seven classroom blocks, an administrative office, four toilet blocks, and the installation of a mechanised solar-powered borehole to provide clean water for the school and the surrounding community.
Rear Admiral Muhammad Abdullahi, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Admiralty University and a native of Zaria, facilitated the project.
He said that the intervention would enhance learning conditions and support the government’s efforts to reduce the number of out-of-school children.
The Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, expressed gratitude to the Navy for the development, describing it as a valuable investment in the community’s future.
The school’s headteacher, Mrs Fatima Aliyu, also commended the Navy, stating that the upgraded facilities would significantly improve the learning environment for pupils.
This project aligns with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to promote inclusive development throughout Nigeria.
