Elder statesman and business mogul, Aloy Nnawugo, has commended Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma for establishing Dr B.U. Nzeribe State Polytechnic in Awo-Omamma, Oru East Local Government Area.
Nnawugo described the governor’s decision as visionary and a mark of respect for past heroes, noting that the naming of the institution after Dr B.U. Nzeribe, Nigeria’s First Republic Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, was fittingly recognised for his legacy.
He stated that the polytechnic would spur development, create jobs, and expand educational opportunities for the host communities. “This project is a dream come true for our people and a foundation that will transform the future of our land,” he said.
The elder statesman also lauded Uzodimma for renaming the Convention Centre after Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu and for the success of the SkillUp Imo programme, which has trained over 50,000 youths across three cohorts.
Nnawugo further praised the governor’s infrastructure strides, citing key road projects and the Assumpta flyover, describing Uzodimma as “an intentional, visionary leader with bold prospects.”
