The National Orientation Agency (NOA) is intensifying its efforts in Osun State to educate schools, parents, and guardians about the dangers of students being out of school, as there are 150,000 cases. The organisation noted that out-of-school students lack access to the benefits of education and are more likely to be involved in criminal activities.
In an attempt to educate as directed by Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, Mr. Stephen Adebiyi, the Osun State Director of the NOA, visited some schools in Osogbo. While at Ataoja School of Science, Adebiyi urged parents and guardians to prioritise their children’s wellbeing through education and development. He cited poverty, insecurity, conflict, and socio-cultural norms as the reasons for having out-of-school children.
