NUC Approves 26 New Courses for FUD

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved 26 new academic programmes for the Federal University Dutse (FUD) in Jigawa State. The approval takes effect from the 2025/2026 academic session.

This was announced in a statement by the university’s Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Abdullahi Yahaya Bello. He said the NUC approved after its team visited the university to check the facilities and staff strength. Some of the new programmes include B.Sc in Food Science and Technology, Industrial Chemistry, and Industrial Mathematics; B.A. Arabic, and PhDs in Chemistry and Mathematics.

Others include PGD, M.Sc., and PhD in Fisheries, Environmental Management, Human Anatomy, Physiology, Soil Science, Animal Science, Crop Science, Taxation, Political Science, Criminology, and Biochemistry. The university also got approval to run MBA, Master’s in Criminal Justice, and Master’s in Civil Society in Development. The university said the new programmes will help expand academic opportunities for students.
