Prof Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu, Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC)
The Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Prof. Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu, has inaugurated a 17-member Local Organising Committee (LOC) to oversee the upcoming 3-day Roundtable on the African Standards Guidelines on Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ASG-QA).
The event, part of the HAQAA3 Dissemination Project funded by DAAD/EU, aims to promote the adoption of continental quality assurance frameworks in Nigerian universities, facilitating academic credit transfer, faculty mobility and staff and student exchanges.
The LOC is responsible for organising the roundtable and executing all activities necessary for its successful hosting, in line with the project’s objectives. Dr Joseph Nte Bisong, Project Coordinator, noted that 70% of the DAAD grant has been released, with the six-month project running from October 2025 to March 2026.
Ribadu expressed confidence in the LOC’s ability to deliver, assuring full support from the NUC. In her vote of thanks, Mrs Sa’adiya Sambo commended the NUC Management for empowering the committee.
LOC members are drawn from various NUC directorates and include D. Esther Mmeka, Kate Onaiyekan, Amaka Mbanefo, Peter Aboh, Nana Sani Mohammed, Jude Akubue, Dr Tanko Abubakar, Olayemi Dada, Fatima Akoki, Hayatudeen Umar, Ella Agbazilo, Musa Alkali, Eno Udofa, Gabriel Aborele, Ada Obijuru, and Aisha Usman.
