Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, Minister of Education, launches the ACE Alliance and the Compendium on Key Achievements and Impacts
The National Universities Commission (NUC) officially launched the Africa Centres of Excellence (ACE) Alliance and the Compendium on Key Achievements and Impacts of the ACE Project on November 3, 2025.
The initiative marks a decade of progress in higher education, research and innovation across Africa.
The launch was led by the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr Maruf Tunji Alausa, alongside current and former NUC Executive Secretaries, including Prof. Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu, Prof. Julius A. Okojie, Prof. Abubakar Adamu Rasheed, and Prof. Munzali Jibril.
Representatives from key partners and donors, such as the World Bank, African Development Bank, Association of African Universities, French Development Agency, and federal ministries of Education and Finance, were also present.
Vice-Chancellors, Centre Leaders, and stakeholders attended the event, which featured an exhibition showcasing the Centres’ research innovations and practical outcomes. The exhibition highlighted how Nigerian institutions are transforming knowledge into solutions that benefit communities and drive economic growth across the continent.
