NWDC Opens 2025/2026 Foreign Scholarship Applications for North-West Students

The North-West Development Commission (NWDC) has commenced applications for its 2025/2026 foreign scholarship programme, aimed at providing full funding for exceptional students from the North-West region to pursue undergraduate, master’s, and PhD studies abroad. 

This focuses on fields such as Engineering, Medical Sciences, Agriculture, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and Education.

Established under the NWDC Act of 2024, the Commission aims to accelerate regional development through investments in human capital. 

Eligible applicants must hail from Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, or Zamfara states.

For undergraduate applicants, requirements include at least three distinctions in core science subjects and five credits in no more than two sittings, with an age limit of 22 years.

  Master’s degree candidates must possess a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.8 and be 35 years old or younger, while PhD applicants must have a master’s CGPA of 4.0 on a 5.0 scale and be under 40 years of age.

The application window opens on May 5, 2025, and closes on May 18, 2025 Interested individuals should apply through the official NWDC scholarship portal: www.nwde.gov.ng/scholarships.
