Idris Ayodeji Bello, Founding and Managing Partner at LoftyInc Capital Management
The Faculty of Technology, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (OAU), will hold its 2025 Biennial Faculty Lecture on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at the Main Hall of the Africa Centre of Excellence, OAK-Park.
The lecture, titled “Innovation Without Borders: From Great Ife to the Global Stage – Rethinking African Tech, Talent and Collaboration in the AI Age,” will be delivered by Idris Ayodeji Bello, Founding and Managing Partner at LoftyInc Capital Management.
Bello, a First-Class graduate of Computer Engineering from OAU, is widely regarded as one of Africa’s leading venture capitalists.
Through LoftyInc Capital, he has supported numerous startups, including unicorns such as Andela, Flutterwave, Wave, and Moove, managing over $100 million across several funds. He is also credited with popularising the term “Afropreneur.”
The Special Guest of Honour is Alhaji Abdulkabir Adisa Aliu, Group CEO of Matrix Group, recognised for his contributions to engineering, business growth, and philanthropy.
The lecture is expected to provide strategic insights on how African research, innovation and emerging talent can scale in the AI era.
