Prof. Oluwatoyin Morenike Ukpong, an alumna and faculty member of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), has been elected as a West Africa Representative on the Board of the Society for AIDS in Africa (SAA).
Through her work with the World Health Organisation (WHO), Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), and the Population Council, she has contributed immensely to HIV/AIDS research, adolescent health, and bioethics.
In addition, she has over 260 peer-reviewed publications and continues to work on global health policy. Celebrating Ukpong, Prof. Adebayo Simeon Bamire, described her election as a reflection of her contributions to global health.
