The Ogun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has dismissed allegations of favouritism, irregularities, and financial inducements in the posting of principals and vice principals across public secondary schools.
In a statement issued Wednesday, and signed by its chairman, Apostle ’Biodun Sanyaolu, the commission described the claims as “unfounded, misleading, and a deliberate attempt to undermine its integrity.”
TESCOM said postings are strictly guided by service records, existing vacancies, and civil service rules, with a comprehensive database of schools and personnel informing promotions, redeployments, and transfers.
“The Ogun State Government remains committed to transparency, accountability, and excellence in education,” the statement noted, adding that recent inductions of principals and vice principals were conducted with due process and fairness.
The commission also dismissed suggestions that retirees might be left without benefits under the Contributory Pensions Scheme, insisting such claims were false.
Reaffirming its zero-tolerance policy for corruption, TESCOM highlighted its whistleblower scheme and open-door policy for investigating genuine complaints and sanctioning misconduct.
“We urge caution against sweeping statements that may tarnish the reputation of the commission,” it said, pledging that all postings and promotions will remain merit-driven and free from undue influence.
