The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, has pledged to settle the outstanding tuition and clearance fees of Itsekiri graduates from Novena University, Delta State, who studied under the Presidential Amnesty Programme but were denied certificates due to unpaid fees.
The monarch’s sole representative to NNPCL and its partners, Collins Edema, announced the intervention on Sunday. He explained that affected graduates must submit their details via a Google Form between September 7 and 30, after which payments will be made in batches until all debts are cleared.
Edema said the gesture reflects the Olu’s commitment to education and empowerment of Itsekiri youths, ensuring they can access their certificates and proceed to the National Youth Service Corps.
Meanwhile, Olori Atuwatse III, the monarch’s wife, has urged African societies to give women more roles in political, economic, and traditional leadership. Speaking in Ghana, she stressed that women’s skills in empathy, discipline, and foresight are crucial for Africa’s progress.
