Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has reaffirmed that quality education remains crucial to eradicating poverty and sustaining peace in society, vowing that his administration is resolved to build a globally competitive education system.
Aiyedatiwa made the remarks at the third edition of an educational empowerment programme sponsored by the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, held at the Oba Adesanoye Civic Centre in Ondo City.
Represented by his deputy, Olayide Adelami, the Governor noted the transformative role of education in national development. “Today’s event is not just another ceremony; it is a bold statement of our collective belief that no investment yields greater dividends than investment in education, the bedrock of any society. It is also an affirmation of our conviction that every child, regardless of background or circumstance, deserves a fair opportunity to learn, to dream, and to achieve their highest potential,” Aiyedatiwa said.
He commended the Speaker for sustaining the scholarship initiative, describing it as a programme with far-reaching benefits for his constituents.
Under his administration, Governor Aiyedatiwa has improved infrastructure development for schools in the state, increased educational funding, and led programmes to support students.
