Prof Bayode Isaiah Popoola, VC, Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo
Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED), Ondo, has been recognised by the people of Ondo West Local Government for its contributions to education locally and internationally.
The award was presented at the Robert Ware Event Centre on October 30, 2025. Chairman of Ondo West Local Government, Hon. Ayotunde Akinfolarin, praised the University’s leadership for maintaining a legacy of excellence and encouraged stronger partnerships to advance educational development in the area.
Akinfolarin also highlighted the achievements of Ondo City indigenes, noting their impact as professionals, academics, and business leaders at the national and global levels.
The event coincided with the launch of the book Ondo West Local Government: People, Places and Prospects for Development, celebrating the local community’s unique contributions.
The ceremony drew prominent attendees, including AFUED Vice-Chancellor Prof. Bayode Isaiah Popoola, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ireti Folasade Alao, Registrar Mrs Olufisayo Fakorede, and several directors and deans.
