The Abia State Government has congratulated the Umuahia District Society of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) for winning a trophy during the March Past event at the recently concluded ICAN Annual Accountants Conference in Abuja.
Secretary to the State Government, Prof Kenneth Kalu, gave the commendation while receiving the delegation led by the District Chairman, Mr Ude Obasi Ogbu, at the Government House, Umuahia.
He lauded the team for bringing honour to the state and urged members to continue upholding ICAN’s core values of integrity, professionalism, and excellence. Kalu, an ICAN member, also encouraged accountants to live healthy lives and support the state’s reform agenda under Governor Alex Otti.
In his remarks, Ogbu said the visit was to present the trophy to the SSG as a mark of appreciation for the government’s support, particularly in facilitating the SSG’s participation in the national conference. He further commended Governor Otti for his achievements in infrastructure and governance, describing them as foundations for sustainable development.
