A total of 10,465 students from tertiary institutions across Kogi State have applied for the 2025 bursary awards organised by the Senator Sunday Steve Karimi Education Foundation and the Tinubu Support Group.
Registration for the programme, open to all Kogi State indigenes studying in public tertiary institutions nationwide, began on August 1 and closed on August 31 2025, the foundation said in a statement.
The next phase involves sorting and screening applicants to select 3,000 successful candidates, as promised by Senator Karimi when the programme was launched. “After this stage, the names of successful applicants will be published in due course,” the statement added.
The foundation urged applicants to follow the DSSK Media Team for updates and reiterated its commitment to transparency, fairness and equal opportunity throughout the selection process.
Under the scheme, 1,390 students from Kogi West, 1,000 from Kogi East and 610 from Kogi Central Senatorial Districts will receive bursaries. The programme aims to support students’ education and alleviate financial pressures, providing critical assistance to Kogi State’s youth in public tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
