Engr. Ubong Idemudo, philanthropist and national leader of the Progressive People’s Resolution (PPR), has been conferred with the Harbinger of Academic Excellence in Africa award in recognition of his significant contributions to education and youth empowerment across the continent.
The PPR’s national directorate of media and publicity, in a statement issued Monday in Uyo, described the honour as a reflection of the organisation’s dedication to youth development, education, and national transformation. The award was presented during a ceremony held at the Barcelona Hotel in Wuse II, Abuja. The event was organised in collaboration with the Education Students’ Association of Nigeria, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), and the Zaria chapter and featured delegates from various tertiary institutions.
In his acceptance remarks, Engr. Idemudo dedicated the award to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and other patriotic Nigerian leaders. He also urged students to uphold integrity, embrace peace, and remain hopeful, stating: “Believe in Nigeria. As future leaders, your values, vision, and voice will shape the destiny of this great country.”
Student leaders at the event hailed Idemudo as a visionary and mentor, commending his philanthropic initiatives through the Ubonh Idemudo Foundation. They described his efforts as “a blueprint for future-forward educational development.”
