Prof Eunice Omonzejie has been appointed the new Vice Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma (AAU), by the Edo State Government.
This was confirmed in a statement released on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor, who said Governor Monday Okpebholo approved the appointment following the recommendation of three candidates by the university’s Governing Council.
The Edo State Government wishes to inform the general public that Senator Monday Okpebholo, Governor of Edo State, has approved the appointment of Professor Eunice Omonzejie as the Vice Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, with immediate effect.
“The appointment was made from amongst three names recommended to the Governor by the Governing Council of the University. Professor Eunice Omonzejie is a distinguished scholar of French and Francophone African Literatures and a long-serving academic in the Department of Modern Languages at Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma,” the statement read.
The government described her as a prolific researcher and editor whose work spans African and Francophone literary studies, gender studies, and cultural studies.
