Provost, Registrar, Bursar of Ibadan College of Education Suspended  Over Certificate Fraud

The Governing Council of Mufutau Lanihun College of Education (MULCOED), Ibadan, has announced the suspension of four top officials, including the Provost and Registrar, following their alleged involvement in a fraudulent scheme to issue the College’s NCE certificates to individuals who never attended the institution.

In a disclaimer notice addressed to the Dr Tunji Alausa, Minister of Education, and copied to Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the Council described the incident as a “disturbing” breach of trust, revealing that the implicated staff members acted on their own “inordinate craving for filthy lucre” without the knowledge or approval of the college leadership.

Those suspended with immediate effect are Mr. Lawal Musiliu Ayodele (Provost), Mr. Adebolu Sirajudeen (Registrar), Mr. Akanji Abdulrasak (Bursar), and Mr. Jimoh Malik (Admission Officer). According to a statement signed by Professor Taslim Ayobami Hammed, the Chairman of the Governing Council, the decision was made at an emergency meeting of the Governing Council held on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
