Dr. Samuel Onoji, Principal and CEO, PTI
The Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) has officially launched the Federal Government’s Technical Vocational Education and Training (FGN-TVET) Skills Training and National Skills Qualification (NSQ) Certification Program at its main auditorium in Delta State. The event was presided over by PTI Principal and CEO, Dr Samuel Onoji, and attended by institute executives, industry leaders, and learners.
Onoji described the initiative as a significant step in strengthening Nigeria’s technical education framework. He emphasised the critical role of practical skills in the oil and gas sector and stressed that the program aims to produce industry-ready graduates.
The NSQ certification, he noted, will provide a standardised measure of competency, enhancing participants’ employability. “This initiative is crucial for equipping our youth with the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly competitive job market,” Onoji said, highlighting the alignment of FGN-TVET with Nigeria’s economic and workforce development goals.
