Redeemer’s University Appoints Two Deputy VCs


Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State, has appointed two Deputy Vice-Chancellors to strengthen governance and operational efficiency. Prof Peter Aderonmu assumes the role of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), while Prof Chiagoziem Otuechere takes office as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic). Their appointments are pending ratification by the university’s Governing Council.


Aderonmu, a University of Jos alumnus with a PhD in Architecture, will support the Vice-Chancellor in external relations, fundraising, international partnerships, alumni advancement, innovation hubs, government and industry linkages, and infrastructural development. He is also a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God.


Otuechere, a distinguished biochemist with degrees from the University of Ibadan, will oversee academic planning, coordination of Senate committees, research development, quality assurance, curriculum review, and staff academic development.


His career includes teaching, research, and administrative roles, including Dean of the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, with contributions to biochemical toxicology, phytomedicine, and nanomedicine.


The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Shadrach Olufemi Akindele, described the appointments as strategic moves to enhance institutional growth, mentorship, and academic excellence at Redeemer’s University.
