Six pioneers of Claretian University of Nigeria earnned First Class Honours
Claretian University of Nigeria, Maryland Nekede, Owerri, celebrated a historic milestone by graduating its first set of students in record time, with six pioneers earning First Class Honours.
The convocation, attended by parents, staff, community leaders and academia, highlighted both academic excellence and the university’s commitment to holistic education.
Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Wenceslaus Madu, praised the graduates for their discipline and resilience, noting that the achievement reflects the values of hard work and integrity upheld by the institution.
The overall best graduating student, Rev. Sr. Mary Natalia Ene Agbochini of the Computer Science Department, also addressed the audience, expressing gratitude for the university’s moral, spiritual, and academic guidance.
The event featured the investiture of the new Chancellor, Distinguished Senator Dr Jack Tilley-Gyado, OFR, CON, and the unveiling of the renovated library named after the late Rev. Fr. Prof Chrysantus Ogbozo.
Dignitaries, including government officials, Claretian Missionaries and representatives from partner institutions, attended the ceremony.
