SQI College of ICT has emerged as the only tech-focused institution in the top 10 of JAMB’s 2025 Innovation Enterprise Institutions (IEIs) ranking. The school, based in Ogbomoso, ranked highest among ICT institutions in first-choice UTME applications.
Known for training students in software engineering, data science, cybersecurity, and robotics, SQI stands out as the only school entirely focused on ICT on the list. The other nine institutions offer general or mixed vocational programmes. Officials say SQI’s success aligns with government policies, such as the Digital Economy Policy and the Nigeria Startup Act, which aim to build the country’s tech workforce.
With students from over 30 states and alumni working globally, SQI is seen as a model for digital education in Nigeria. The school is also planning a tech city to deepen its impact. “This proves young Nigerians are ready for digital careers,” said Laurel, an aide to the Oyo State Governor.
