Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc has renovated Hausawa Model Primary School in Kano State as part of its Adopt-A-School initiative.
The project, inaugurated on Wednesday, included a new two-classroom block with modern furniture, an upgraded administrative office, a computer laboratory with ten systems, a mini football pitch, a library and eight new toilets. The company also planted 30 trees and flowers to improve the school environment. The facilities are expected to benefit more than 640 pupils and staff.
Acting Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Holdings, Kunle Adedeji, stated that the initiative reflects the organisation’s commitment to creating a more conducive learning environment. “Every child deserves access to quality education in an environment that allows them to thrive,” he said.
Wole Adeniyi, Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Bank, added that the bank views investment in education as an investment in Nigeria’s future.
Hausawa Model Primary School is the ninth institution to benefit from the scheme, which aims to address infrastructure gaps and promote literacy nationwide. The launch was attended by community leaders and education officials.
