Tinubu’s Power Project Reaches More Universities

The Energising Education Programme (EEP) by President Bola Tinubu’s administration is bringing steady electricity to federal universities across Nigeria, with the Northeast region getting more attention due to its unique challenges.

According to Bayo Onanuga, the President’s media adviser, the project is being fairly implemented in all regions. The EEP, managed by the Rural Electrification Agency, aims to supply clean and reliable power to 37 federal universities and 7 teaching hospitals. The first and second phases, done in partnership with the World Bank, have been completed. The third phase, in collaboration with the African Development Bank (AFDB), is now 70% complete. Altogether, the EEP will add 100 megawatts of clean energy to support learning and healthcare in these institutions. Mr Onanuga assured that these projects will significantly improve the electricity supply in key sectors, especially education and health, across the country.
