Twelve Ogun Pupils Win N4m in Taibat Ademosu Memorial Debate

Twelve pupils from six schools in Ogun State have won a total of N4 million in cash prizes at the maiden edition of a debate competition held in memory of the late Taibat Ademosu.

The grand finale, which marked the 10th remembrance of Ademosu, took place at the Wosam Arena in Ago-Iwoye, with the wife of the state governor, Bamidele Abiodun, serving as chairperson. In the primary school category, Omo Edumare Academy, Ago-Iwoye, represented by Osinowo Nasrat and Odumosu Elizabeth, won the top prize of N1 million. Wesley Primary School, Awa, came second with N500,000, while Nawarudeen Primary School, Ago-Iwoye, placed third with N300,000.

In the secondary school category, Beje High School, Ijebu-Igbo, emerged as the winner and received N1 million. Molusi College, Ijebu-Igbo, and Abusi Odumare Academy, Ijebu-Igbo, came second and third, winning N700,000 and N500,000 respectively.

The event’s convener, Dr Akinwande Ademosu, said the competition was organised by the Taide Foundation to promote education, health, and community development. Governor’s wife, Bamidele Abiodun, described the late Ademosu as “a woman of service and kindness” and urged students to strive for excellence.
