The Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Aisha Garba, has praised the Kaduna State Government for its outstanding efforts in improving basic education.
Speaking at the KADA EduPACT International Summit 2025 in Kaduna, she stated that the state has made significant progress in reducing the number of out-of-school children and increasing access to quality learning for more children, particularly those from low-income backgrounds.
Garba noted that UBEC is working closely with Kaduna to address long-standing issues in the education system. She said the Commission is focused on reforms such as improving teachers’ skills, updating the curriculum, incorporating more technology into classrooms, and enhancing the system’s accountability. She added that UBEC’s goal is to build an inclusive and effective basic education system that leaves no child behind. Garba stated that partnerships like the one with Kaduna are crucial to achieving real change, and UBEC will continue to support states in providing children with improved educational opportunities.
