Professor Abdulai Abubakari, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University for Development Studies (UDS), has received an Award for Excellence in Higher Education.
The award was presented during the 4th ECOWAS Multidisciplinary International Academic Conference held at the University of Ghana, Legon, from July 14 to 17. Organised by the Research Network of International Scholars (TRENIS) in partnership with the Institut Bilingual Libre du Togo (IBLT), the conference focused on the theme, “Augmented Technologies, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Transformation in a Global Environment.”
The event brought together academics, researchers, and policymakers from across West Africa and beyond. Prof. Abubakari was recognised for his contribution to teaching, research, and academic leadership. Other recipients of awards at the event included Prof. A.B.C. Robert of Tennessee, USA; Prof. Ezekiel Uzor Okike of the University of Botswana; Dr Olyemi Oyebanji, First Lady of Ekiti State; and scholars from the University of Ibadan, Lagos State University, and the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. Prof. Abubakari’s recognition highlights UDS’s growing presence in regional academic development.
