The University of Abuja has cautioned prospective students against falling victim to fraudsters who promise admission for a fee.
In a notice posted on its official Facebook page, the institution warned applicants not to pay anyone — whether staff or students — in exchange for admission. It stressed that all admissions are strictly based on merit, transparency, and due process.
The university explained that with over 31,000 candidates seeking admission this year, scammers have been trying to exploit desperate applicants. The management of the university urged students to remain calm, avoid desperation, and protect their future by staying vigilant.
The statement, which was signed by the school’s social media team, made it clear that anyone engaging in fraudulent transactions risks losing both money and the opportunity to study at the institution. The university assured applicants that genuine admission offers will only come through official channels.
