The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has commissioned a 24 kVA capacity hybrid inverter solar system to provide an alternative power source to the Central Administration building of the institution.
The project was donated to the University by Christ’s Chosen Church of God International. The Vice Chancellor, Professor Edoba Omoregie, SAN, stated that the Church’s intervention is a prayer answered, as the project is expected to alleviate the electricity power supply challenges experienced by the University following the exorbitant billing rate from the Public Power Supply Company.
Professor Omoregie thanked the spiritual leader of Christ’s Chosen Church International, Most Senior Apostle David Unuefe Ikhuiwu, for the benevolence and stressed that the facility is highly valued. Representative of the spiritual leader, Apostle Jones Ikibeh, who presented the address on behalf of his boss, said the church was happy and proud to be associated with the University of Benin as a foremost institution of quality learning. The spiritual leader, in the letter, expressed delight with the clear focus demonstrated by the Vice Chancellor since assuming office and promised to continue supporting the University.
