UNILAG Alumni Association to Honour Eminent Nigerians, Others

The University of Lagos Alumni Association will mark its 55th anniversary on Friday, October 17, 2025, with a grand awards ceremony to celebrate notable Nigerians and distinguished alumni who have made outstanding contributions to the university and national development.

According to a statement by the National Publicity Secretary, Funmi Falobi, honourees include the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun; Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN), Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, UNILAG; Dr John Momoh, Chairman, Channels Media Group; Chief Tunde Fanimokun, Life Director, Folawiyo Group; and Sir (Chief) Kessington Adebutu.

Others to be recognised are Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, Mrs Esther Didi Wilson-Jack, Chief Bayo Ojo (SAN), HRM (Prof) Epiphany Azinge, Mr Kola Adesina, and Chief (Mrs.) Folasade Okoya.

The event will take place at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, with Vice President Kashim Shettima as Special Guest of Honour and Olor’ogun Dr Sonny Folorunso Kuku serving as Chairman of the occasion.

In his remarks, the UNILAG Alumni President Worldwide, IfeOluwa Oyedele, said the ceremony will feature the presentation of the Alumni Platinum Award, Distinguished Alumni Award, and Lifetime Achievement Award.
