The University of Lagos, Faculty of Arts, has honoured Dr Olufemi Bakre, Managing Director/CEO of Parallex Bank Limited, with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his exceptional leadership and contributions to Nigeria’s banking sector.
Bakre, an alumnus of UNILAG, was recognised for his innovative and ethical leadership, having steered Parallex Bank from inception to profitability in less than three years.
In his acceptance speech, Bakre expressed gratitude to his alma mater and dedicated the award to the Parallex Bank team, reaffirming his commitment to driving excellence, innovation, and nation-building through responsible banking practices.
The event also recognised other distinguished alumni, including Chief Tunde Fanimokun, who chaired the ceremony alongside several stakeholders, who were celebrated for their impact on academia, business, and national development.
