The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has reminded applicants seeking its vacant positions to carefully follow new instructions on the career portal to avoid disqualification.
According to the school’s communication unit, many applicants have signed up but failed to submit their forms correctly. The university stressed that all text fields must be typed directly into the portal, warning against copying bullet points or symbols from Microsoft Word.
Applicants were instructed to upload their educational and professional certificates separately, using the “Add More” option, rather than merging them into a single file. They are also instructed on the need to keep filenames simple without apostrophes, extra dots, or special characters to prevent server errors.
UNILAG added that any error on the portal can be fixed by refreshing the page or restarting the process through the link sent during sign-up. The university said the clarification became necessary to ensure a smooth application process and fair consideration for all candidates.
