Raheemah Adebiyi, a recent graduate of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), has been awarded the prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship to pursue a Master of Science in Global Development and Environment at the University of Bristol, United Kingdom.
Adebiyi, who graduated in 2023 from the Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management, described the award as a “thrilling opportunity” in an interview.
She urged undergraduates to balance academic focus with participation in extracurricular activities, saying this combination helps develop important skills.
Adebiyi also praised her undergraduate supervisor, Dr Khadijat Amolegbe, the Acting Head of her department, for her continued mentorship. “Beyond academic supervision, Dr Amolegbe has supported me even after graduation,” she said.
