A private school in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, has unveiled a new Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre, making it the second-largest such facility in Nigeria.
The 700-capacity centre, located at Zoe Schools’ Abaa branch, adds to an existing 150-seat facility already accredited by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). It is designed to host students for internal assessments, external examinations, and digital training programmes.
Founder and CEO Reverend Niyi Adebayo said the initiative reflects the school’s commitment to integrating technology into education and preparing students for a digital future. “Our students need to be equipped with the skills and knowledge to succeed in a digital age,” he said.
The school has also offered short- and long-term digital literacy programmes for teachers, artisans, and young school leavers. Plans are underway to collaborate with national examination bodies, including WAEC, NECO, and JAMB, as well as higher institutions and professional councils. Education officials attending the launch described the centre as a milestone for Ogbomoso, highlighting its potential to enhance digital learning and assessment across the region.
The inauguration will take place on September 9, coinciding with the Ogbomoso Education Summit at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH).
