2025 Orientation: FUOYE VC Charges New Students in Integrity

Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, Vice-Chancellor, FUOYE

Federal University Oye-Ekiti Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, has directed newly admitted students to anchor their academic journey on integrity, discipline, and excellence, positioning themselves as future ambassadors of the institution.

Represented by Prof. Ayodele Fajimi, the VC delivered the charge during the 2025 orientation programme held on November 14. He urged the students to maximise the opportunity before them, stressing that FUOYE’s reputation for quality demands a corresponding level of commitment from its learners. “You are part of the process today, but you will become the product tomorrow,” he said.

The event attracted key university officials, including Deans of Engineering and Environmental Management, the Director of Students’ Affairs, senior registry officers, and the Public Relations unit.

Fasina emphasised that the orientation theme, “FUOYE Way: Building Character and Legacy,” aligns with the institution’s mandate to shape well-grounded graduates capable of driving national development. He reiterated that success at FUOYE extends beyond academics to daily choices and values.

Dean of Students’ Affairs, Prof. Temitope Babalola, reminded students that the Division stands as their primary support structure, urging them to uphold strong character. Other speakers provided guidance on quality assurance, ICT, entrepreneurship, health services and responsibilities expected of FUOYE ambassadors.

The 13th orientation was held across the Oye and Ikole campuses.
