Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma (AAU) has debunked rumours that certificates were sold to non-attendees, as claimed by a former Edo State Governor in a viral video.
Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sunday Olowo Samuel, refuted the claims during a ceremony honouring a distinguished alumnus, Dr Isinene Onoabhagbe, a renowned expert in clinical informatics and health data science. Onoabhagbe’s achievements include developing innovative surveillance systems for Lassa fever and advancing women’s health research.
Samuel praised Onoabhagbe as one of the university’s outstanding products, making waves globally.
“We are proud to count Dr Onoabhagbe among our esteemed alumni. We anticipate her continued impact in medicine, health data science, and global public health. Our graduates excel through hard work and resilience, earning their certificates and distinctions through merit, not purchase,” he said.
