Afe Babalola University Multi-System Hospital, Ado-Ekiti, has helped deliver a baby to a 60-year-old woman, after her many years of waiting.
A statement in Ado-Ekiti by the Director of Corporate Affairs, Tunde Olofintila, said the feat was achieved at the hospital’s Fertility Centre through advanced reproductive technology and comprehensive antenatal care.
Meanwhile, Dr Akinola Akinmade, the Chief Medical Director, praised the teamwork that made the delivery possible, stating that the collaboration between Olive Hospital and the multi-system hospital was critical to the medical feat. He said the medical breakthrough proved how modern fertility treatment and quality obstetric services could deliver positive outcomes even in high-risk pregnancies.
Akinmade said the hospital’s Fertility Centre, which was well-equipped with modern infrastructure and dedicated specialists, enabled the hospital to safely manage complex maternal cases that might otherwise require treatment abroad.
