No fewer than 5,320 primary school teachers in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, have undergone various retraining programmes, courtesy of the College of Education (COE) Zuba.
This was disclosed by Dr Moshood Bello, Director of the Consultant Services Unit (CSU) of the college, during a presentation on stewardship accountability held at the institute.
Bello said the programme, a collaboration with the FCT Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB), was conducted as part of an outreach programme to the benefiting schools between 2023 and 2025.
He said the beneficiaries included 5,000 school-based teachers, 200 head teachers, and 120 support officers from basic education schools.
The training is expected to boost the quality of teaching and management across the benefiting schools.
