Prof. Dauda B. Ishaya, celebrated by Institute for Agricultural Research of ABU
Ahmadu Bello University’s Institute for Agricultural Research (IAR) is celebrating one of its leading scholars, Professor Dauda B. Ishaya, following his recognition as a Fellow of the Weed Science Society of Nigeria (WSSN).
The award was conferred during the 51st Annual WSSN Conference in Makurdi, honouring Prof. Ishaya’s decades-long contributions to weed science, sustainable crop production, and agricultural innovation. As President of the society, he has championed research and mentorship that strengthen Nigeria’s capacity in weed management and crop protection.
Prof. Ishaya’s work has not only advanced scientific understanding but also shaped practical approaches for farmers, promoting efficiency and sustainability in agriculture. His leadership in both research and professional circles exemplifies the impact of dedicated scholarship on national development.
