Prof. Ebunoluwa Olufemi Oduwole, VC of Ajayi Crowther University
The Vice-Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University, Prof. Ebunoluwa Olufemi Oduwole, has ordered a full renovation of the University Health Centre to ensure it meets the needs of the growing campus community.
The directive follows multiple inspections by Prof. Oduwole, who identified gaps in facilities, hygiene, and equipment. Immediate measures include new waste bins, toilet seats, beddings, fans, window blinds, rechargeable corridor lamps, inverter-powered air conditioners, and a thorough cleaning of the surroundings.
Additional cleaners will be employed solely for the clinic.
Accompanied by medical facility consultant Mr David Oluborode, Prof. Oduwole also approved the recruitment of extra medical personnel and the complete digitisation of patient records to replace manual filing. The temporary relocation of the clinic to the old Establishment building has been ordered to allow for uninterrupted renovations.
The upgrade, sanctioned by Pro-Chancellor Dr Olutoyin Okeowo, includes an oxygen supply and other essential medical equipment. Prof. Oduwole emphasised that a functional health centre is vital for the well-being of students and staff.
Looking ahead, plans are underway to construct a modern teaching hospital that will serve both the University community and future medical students. On Monday, she revisited the facility with Governing Council member Dr Oludamola Dada to finalise strategies for the overhaul and proper drug storage.
