Prof. Ebunoluwa Olufemi Oduwole, VC of Ajayi Crowther University, joins ICAN to Celebrate 2025 World Accounting Day
The Vice-Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University, Prof. Ebunoluwa Olufemi Oduwole, joined hundreds of accounting students and executives of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Oyo District, to celebrate World Accounting Day on Monday, November 10, 2025. The event was held at the university’s Welcome Centre, with the University Bursar, Dr Ayodele Olusanwo, also in attendance.
Prof. Oduwole praised ICAN for its role in promoting accountability and integrity within the profession, noting her longstanding engagement with the Institute as a reviewer and question setter. She urged students to complete their professional examinations before graduation and uphold the highest standards in their careers.
The University Bursar described accounting as a profession recognised by God, commending students’ dedication and praying for the continued success of the Vice-Chancellor’s tenure.
Activities included a campus procession and an outreach session for senior secondary school students at the ACU College, highlighting the role of accounting in business and national development. ICAN officials, including Oyo District Chairman Dr Williams Amao, encouraged students to maintain discipline and integrity in their studies.
Cash gifts were also presented, with Oderinde Noah, the only accounting student in the secondary school, receiving ₦10,000 from Dr Amao, while both Noah and his teacher, Mr Esan Olakunle, received ₦10,000 each from the Bursar.
