APM Terminals, Apapa, Lagos, has awarded scholarships to 51 students in its host communities. Some of the beneficiaries include Ojora Muslimot, a final-year Economics student at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), who appreciated the company’s kind gesture, describing it as a financial relief.
Ismael Ganiyu, the Vice Chairman of Apapa Local Government, described the scholarship as a significant investment in the future of Apapa’s youth.
While awarding the scholarships, Frederik Klinke, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of APM Terminals, noted that the scholarships demonstrate the company’s belief that social impact is more important than business performance.
Steen Knudsen, the terminal manager, added that some of the beneficiaries will have the opportunity to serve with the company as interns and gain practical work experience.
He elaborated, “We will continue to support you as you maintain good grades. I would love to see some of you working with us at APM Terminals in the near future.”
