John Onaiyekan, the Emeritus Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, has pledged a merit-based scholarship for indigent and struggling students at Super Brains Golden Crown Academy, Idu village, Abuja.
The archbishop pledged this at the school’s 11th speech and prize-giving day celebration, saying the scholarship will cover the students’ six years of education. He further applauded the school for its effort in providing quality education to elite and less-privileged children.
Speaking at the ceremony, Fredrick Ofoha, the chairman of the graduation, urged the federal government to support private schools. He emphasised that the support will make a significant contribution to the education sector.
