UNESCO Laureate, Prof. Sir Bashiru Aremu, has commended Minaret University, Ikirun, for supporting the successful hosting of an international conference on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its role in modern Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
Speaking in a telephone interview on Monday, Prof. Aremu, who is also Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Africa Information Technology Consultancy, described the conference as a landmark platform that brought together global scholars and experts to exchange knowledge on AI-driven ICT development. The conference, themed “Artificial Intelligence in the Modern World of Information and Communication Technology,” examined how AI can be harnessed to advance education, research, and societal growth.
Prof. Aremu praised the university’s management, guest lecturers and participants worldwide for their contributions, stressing that the insights shared would help shape ICT innovation in Africa. He urged stakeholders to embrace AI as a tool for development, saying Nigeria must not be left behind in the global technology race.
