The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has called off its two-week warning strike.
The union announced the suspension this morning at an emergency press briefing by the president, Prof. Chris Piwuna.
The president mentioned that the suspension came after the Committee of the Senate on Tertiary Education and TETFund, the Committee of Labour, and the renegotiation committee led by Yayale Ahmed intervened.
While addressing the newsmen at the briefing, Piwuna said the union would not have embarked on the strike it declared on Monday, October 13, 2025, had the federal government responded to its demands and appeals.
