Augustine University, Ilara-Epe, has inaugurated Rev. Prof. Anthony Akinwale, OP, as its new Vice-Chancellor following the completion of Prof. Christopher Odetunde’s five-year tenure.
The appointment was formally announced during a Thanksgiving Mass at the institution, attended by members of the university community, governing council, and guests.
Pro-Chancellor Dame Winifred Akpani presented Akinwale to staff and students, urging continuity in academic and institutional development. Akinwale, who also unveiled his new book, Truth in the Waters of Wisdom, pledged to consolidate on the progress recorded under his predecessor.
Outgoing Vice-Chancellor Odetunde was recognised for his contributions to the University’s growth during his tenure.
The event marked a decade since the University’s establishment, with speakers urging sustained commitment to character formation, academic excellence, and long-term impact.
