The American University of Nigeria (AUN) Library has received a donation of 1,006 books from Dr Patrick Fay, a long-serving faculty member and former Ambassador of Ireland to Nigeria.
The collection, which arrived this semester, covers International Relations, Political Science, Diplomacy and Government, offering valuable academic support for both undergraduate and postgraduate research.
AUN President, Dr DeWayne Frazier, described the gesture as a remarkable addition to the university’s learning resources, commending Fay for sharing his lifetime collection with the institution.
Provost Prof Paul Vita noted that many of the books are rare and unavailable elsewhere in Nigeria, giving AUN a unique edge in diplomacy and global studies.
Meanwhile, the university Librarian, Mr Benson Ali, confirmed that the materials have been made fully accessible on open shelves, ensuring students can freely borrow and use them..
