Primate Elijah Ayodele, Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, donates ₦2 million to physically challenged student
For many physically challenged students at Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), life has often been a story of resilience against odds — from navigating staircases without ramps to surviving on little support. However, last week, hope was rekindled when the Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, announced a ₦2 million donation to support them.
The gesture occurred during an event titled “Voices of Resilience,” which was organised to celebrate students with disabilities. Moved by their courage, Primate Ayodele urged leaders to prioritise inclusion over prestige. “Our students are showing great examples, and this means they will become great leaders. Sadly, we do not see politicians at events like this,” he said.
He also criticised clerics who focus solely on miracles, saying that true ministry lies in changing lives. “We are not talking about miracles here; we are talking about life-changing events,” he noted, pledging the ₦2 million support.
The donation drew applause from students and staff. The Dean of Student Affairs, Mr Olalekan Shakirudeen, and SUG President, Comrade Omogunle Monday, praised the cleric’s consistency in helping YABATECH students, describing his gesture as “a reminder that compassion still speaks louder than sermons.”
